I'm currently rehearsing for the Ditchling Players next production The Nightingales a comedy by Peter Quilter in which I'm cast as Charlie. Set in the home of a cabaret star, Jack, the rhythm of his comfortable life is disturbed by the unexpected arrival of his parents, who were themselves a Music Hall act, ‘Charlie and Beat’. Why they have suddenly descended on Jack is unclear; then his mother disappears.

Jack’s stage partner, Maggie, is having relationship problems, which Jack could solve, and the ‘will they, won’t they’ path of Jack and Maggie weaves its way throughout the play.

I've also designed the poster.

Saturday 13th September was Haywards Heath Town Day. The Tour of Britain Cycle Race was scheduled to pass through the town at around midday immediately after which there was a parade through the main street of the The Royal Yeomanry, led by a military band. This was the prelude to the granting by Mid Sussex District Council of Freedom of Entry to the District to the Regiment whose headquarters are in Croydon. I was commissioned to produce an illuminated address to mark the event and managed to attend the ceremony and take a few photographs.
